EUPHAEA SUBNODALIS – UNDER GLASS DOME
East Kalimantan, Indonesia
Your Euphaea subnodalis is a damselfly which is found in East Kalimantan – Indonesia. Damselflies, which correspond to the suborder Zygoptera, are, despite their very elegant appearance, a formidable predator, both as nymphs and adults. Having been around for more than 300 million years, they can be found throughout our Planet (except Antarctica) next to non-polluted bodies of water, as their juveniles are semi-aquatic or aquatic. For this reason, they can act as bioindicators of water quality in rivers because they rely on high quality water for proper development in early life.
There are more than 2,900 known species of Damselflies but they are not to be mistaken with Dragonflies with who they share the order Odonata.
